A balance of detailed precision and organic fluidity, my artwork is inspired by the exquisite beauty of nature through the timeless, intimate, and delicate medium of watercolor.

My upbringing in California, on the edge of the Pacific in the quaint town of Cambria, was an early catalyst for my art.  With tide-pools and rugged coastal bluffs as my backyard, childhood was immersed in the natural wonders of my small seaside town.  Beyond the California coast, I would travel the planet through my extensive collection of vintage National Geographic.  The dramatic and vivid photography of our world resonated at a young age.  Never without a paint brush, I was constantly capturing nature and my regional context.

My intuitive artistic abilities led me to San Francisco to pursue a degree in interior design.  A graduate of the California College of the Arts and the University of San Francisco, I received my BFA in interior design in 2005.   In the past 15 years, I have crafted a successful career, initially in San Francisco and now in New York, where I have been based since 2012 as a senior designer at global design and architecture firm, Gensler.

Inspired by my pastoral upbringing and innovative creativity inherent in my profession, my work explores the ethereal and organic elements of nature.  Watercolor is my preferred medium to capture the depth and detail of the natural environment.  My formal and technical training as an interior designer brings delicate rigor to the fluid and luminous medium of watercolor.
